Milk.....it definitely does something good!

Has anyone seen the latest milk commercial? It shows a bunch of guys buying a massive amount of milk. One guy is taking milk from a milk truck and just throwing money onto the seat, another is seriously emptying out the supermarket fridge. And then.....when you're wondering, "What the hell is going on?!?!" it says, "Calcium has shown to reduce the symptoms of PMS." Ha! I wonder if that's true? For the sake of Ray, though, I will try this out!

Happy 9-month

Happy 9-month to me and my handsome! 9 wonderful months have gone by and we're still crazy about each other! I use to think that I was too realistic for all that "honeymoon" stage stuff, but man, I'm really feelin' it and it still hasn't gone away. I hope it doesn't go away!

Friday:
Helped L. put together her 30th birthday party. I'm really excited about this! Hit a few snags here and there throughout the weekend but things seem to have gotten better. Paco night with the roomies + Rick. Ray went to play volleyball while we had our "girl's night." I won a whole like 70 cents. woo-hoo! At least I didn't lose!

Saturday:
Yoga, Ray's neice, Eliza Reese's, 1st bday. She's his cousin, Cheryl's, daughter. Very cute girl! I just wanna squeeze her cheeks and take her home with me! It was in a church hall in San Francisco off of 19th. They had a caricature artist and balloon maker. Pretty cool. Food was good, tons of family, and tons of kids. Had the marriage talk with Ray later that night. Things looking very positive. As much as I want to get married in the next couple years just to hear that he does want to marry me was all I needed.

Sunday:
Went to Party City and Diddum's. Diddum's rocks! It's like party planner heaven! Took an afternoon nap with Ray, met up with roomies, Rick, and Rick's roommate to eat at Marisco's San Juan #2 in San Jose. Mexican seafood, yum!!! I had tostada de ceviche (I think that's how you say it.) Had some of Lorena's shrimp taco and that was mighty taste. Got to see Johnny in his pink polo. It was VERY pink!

Way too much work stress.........

Sooo.....when I signed on to work in the San Leandro District I understood that I would be considered a temp, therefore, at the end of the school year I would be automatically laid off. What that means is that I'm screwed and I have to hope that nobody wants my position so I can get it back. So the news is that a few people that have been on leave (like maternity leave) and a few middle school teachers that have to go back to elementary (because they only have a multiple subj. credential) have dibs on whatever positions are available (including mine). I have to wait until June 1st before they open up any leftover positions to the public to get my job back. Sucks ass doesn't it? So I'm back to square one AGAIN! My principal and co-workers are not too happy about this, but hey, what can I do? It's the life of a teacher......Pray for me or cross your fingers!

Saturday:
Ray and I went to our first yoga class. It was pretty cool. On a scale of 1-7 it was a 5 1/2. I was disappointed that the floor wasn't carpeted. That's makes a difference with my knees!
Went clubbing with Shirley, Johnny, and Johnny's cousin, CJ. Had a tequila sunrise and rum with pineapple juice. Got a bit buzzed. Ray seemed "off" lately. Not as talkative, energetic, etc. I was a bit worried not knowing what was going on even though he kept reassuring me that he was fine. *sigh*

Sunday:
Went to the driving range. I've been getting pretty good. I actually hit the 75 mark! Ray started being more himself after golf. I think my last talk with him on the way to the range helped a bit. I became more specific with my concerns about his behavior for the past few days. Things got better later that night.

Monday:
Ray is back to normal! Hallelujah! Dinner and 24 at Jon and Lorraine's. We made skillet pork and veggies with stuffed pepper.

I love weekends.....

I'm sooo glad it's Friday, although I do have to say that this week went by a lot faster compared to last week. Probably due to the daylight savings time putting my internal clock all outta wack. What also was nice was the absence of a certain student for two days. It is so sad to say that it makes a huge difference when a certain student is not at school. I felt less stressed and more at peace and I could tell that the other students were feeling it too. *sigh* If only there were only well-behaved students........

Last night Ray and I joined Shirley, Xuanthao, Johnny and two of Shirley's friends at Rooster T Feathers for a night of comedy. Normally I don't go to Rooster T unless it's free because the comedians tend to be so-so. So Shirley got free tickets, probably because it was her bday. Surprisingly it was a pretty funny show. The opener was ok and the headliner wasn't that bad. There was this one hoochie sitting on the other side of the stage that kept heckling the comedian. I think she was also drunk. She was wearing this odd turquoise tube-top-like outfit. Basically, imagine a tube top that only covered the breasts and then this shoulder covering that went down the sides of the body so there's an opening where you can see the tube top. She was getting sooooo obnoxious with the comedian. You could tell the guy wanted to wring her neck. I wouldn't have been surprised if she flashed everyone just based on the state that she was in. She even came on stage declaring that she was funnier than the comedian. She received NO sympathy from the audience! That girl seriously needed to get slapped and ticketed by the fashion police!

Teachers on strike

I've never picketed before. I've never marched through a building following a wooden coffin and then chanting, "Contract now!" before. It's quite an experience. The San Leandro teachers are pissed off because the district is not giving us the salary we deserve. Apparently we are like at the bottom of the salary schedule in Alameda County. That's pretty pathetic! And then they turn around and give the superintendent a ridiculous raise. How many times do we have to bonk it over their heads that if teachers are miserable because they're having to pay for supplies out of their pocket or they cannot live in the same area as their job because they can't afford to live there, or they can't even buy a home, the students will unfortunately suffer. No one wants these poor kids to suffer but you can't help but be miserable when you can barely afford to have a decent lunch because you spend $30/week on gas! Life is cruelly unfair.....

My new TV fascination

So has anyone seen "Desparate Housewives?" Last night was my third time watching it and it's quite intriguing! I remember seeing the commercials for it last Fall, but didn't put much thought to it since I already had plenty of shows to keep up with. When it started getting popular I considered watching it but I hesitated since I wasn't sure if I wanted to jump halfway into the season.
One night at Liz and Chak's place we ended up watching part of it and although I found it somewhat odd, at first, it was still interesting. So last week Ray and I ended up watching a whole episode and I began to become really interested in the characters and all their goings-on. Eva Longoria's character is sooooo evil! She is every guy's dream and nightmare. Totally hot and totally manipulative and evil! Guys, it goes to show that no matter how hot a person may be their personality will make all the difference! So far, Teri Hatcher's character annoys the shit outta me. She seems to revel in the "woes is me" attitude. I haven't picked a fav character yet, but stay tuned!

Fun-filled weekend

Friday:
Ugh, had to send two kids to the office for two separate offense. One called another student, "bitch," and another was her usual kleptomania! I felt horrible. This was the second and third time I had to send a student to the office this year. A Kindergartener for God's sake?!?!
Well, the evening was a chill night for me and Ray. I've never loved just doing a whole lot of nothing until I met ray. I don't feel the need to always be going out when I'm with Ray. I'm just as content lying in bed with him watching a bunch of CSI episodes then going clubbing or to the movies.

Saturday:
Vegged out 'til 12:30 p.m. Had lunch, did some errands, and then took a nap. Around 5:45 Ray took me to Lucille's for her slumber party. Jen, Shirley, and Winnie were also there. It was so much fun! This was my first step from allowing myself to be away from Ray. Ray deserves to be able to enjoy the things he likes to do like volleyball or just putting together internet projects and I'm really trying hard to give him that.
The slumber party involved a lot of gossip, tv, junk food, and Scene It! board game. Scene It! is such a fun game. Just ask Shirley and her Tom Cruise references!

Sunday:
Went to my parent's for banh xeo (Vietnamese crepe) at 10. Jen, Steve, Winnie, Lucille, Ray, and Mary were there. It was so much fun just hanging out and eating. We were there until noon. Ray and I went back to my place and just hung out and watched TV. Ray left around 5:30 to go play volleyball (my round II in making Ray happier). Went to dinner at Elephant Bar with Lily. Had fried shrimp and chicken strips. They were good. Shared a huge ice cream sandwich. Thank God I didn't finish my dinner otherwise I would've been more stuffed than I was already! Poor Ly had her lamb shanks, veggies, mashed potatoes, and my fries along with the ice cream so you can imagine how stuffed SHE was!

Answers to cheating questions

Ok, ok, so a few were curious as to how I answered those hypothetical cheating questions a few blogs ago. So here are my answers!

1. Emotionally cheating vs. physical cheating:
At the moment I feel like I can deal with emotional more than physical. I know that if it's physical that's all that'll be on my mind. I'll be imagining all the time. Whereas with emotional I feel that if I do take him back he wouldn't be able to ever see that person again and I would hope that in time the feelings would fade. If the feelings don't fade than that's an indication to move on.

2. Being cheated on 5 times with the same person or with 5 different people:
I'd prefer to be cheated on 5 times by the same woman. To me, if he cheated on me with 5 different women than that's an indication that he's just plain horny and will do it with ANYONE!

3. Would you take them back?:
I use to think that I would NEVER take anyone back after they cheated on me, but now I feel as though I would weigh the issues before making a decision. If it is a serious relationship I would evaluate the relationship to see if it was a breakdown in communication and other issues or if he's just a horndog! And if I do take him back it's with the understanding that he's out of my life if he does it again.

4. One-nighter vs. multiple times:
Of course, one-night stand but only once! It's not like I'm ok with him just doing one-night stands! Only ONE one-night stand and that's it!

A petition for teachers

Hey old friends, new friends, and all you weirdos out
there! This is a very important issue I want to
discuss with you guys so please, PLEASE read the whole
email!!

If you are a registered voter please read, if you
are NOT a registered voter please read and go out and
register to vote!

As many of you know, I have chosen the life of a
pauper in order to educate our future. Um, I'm a
teacher, duh! Unfortunately Gov. Arnold doesn't give
a shit about us teachers because of all the bullshit
initiatives he's trying to pass. He's masking it to
sound like these initiatives will help the kids. I
don't think so! Ask yourself, how do these kids
succeed? A major factor are the teachers and the
governor is trying to screw us over! Please, please,
PLEASE do not vote for any intiative that this guy
tries to pass. Here are the reasons why:

1. If he eliminates Prop 98, which he said he
wouldn't, that will take away $20,000 per classroom.
Considering how many schools there are in Cali, that's
a shitload of $$ he's gaining!

2. He's trying to rid teachers of their pension plan
and put in place a plan that doesn't guarantee us a
retirement. Sucks-ass, doesn't it?

3. He wants teachers to be paid based on merit. What
he means by merit is how high the test scores are. He
fails to remember that standardized tests are bias and
racist and he doesn't factor in that no matter how
hard a teacher works to try and get the kids to
understand this shit, we have NO CONTROL over poor
families, abusive parents, neglectful parents, kids
with learning disabilities, kids that just came from
other countries, and the fact that we don't have
enough money for resources to work with because he
took it all!

4. He doesn't want us protected by the union.
Basically, he doesn't want our rights to be
protected!!!

5. He wants to prohibit districts from collecting
union dues, which will in turn take away the teachers'
voices on educational issues and yet who knows best
then the educators?????!!!!

For those of you who see me regularly, you know how
difficult, time-consuming, and $$ draining teaching
can be. If he gets these initiatives passed I, along
with all my co-workers and many of my friends, will be
completely screwed.

Is it really my fault if my student, who can't
speak an ounce of English, does not do well on the
tests that are all in English? Is it my fault that
some of my students come to school hungry or their mom
just lie in bed neglecting them instead of helping
them with their homework? Hell no!! So why should I
be held accountable for these test scores?!?! I'm
doing the best that I can on a cheap-ass salary and
now Arnold wants to make it even more difficult. I've
never felt this strongly about something before and I
ask that you vote against any educational initiative
that this lying asshole puts on you. If you vote for
these intiatives, you are voting against ME and
putting ME out of house and home. I don't mean to
sound harsh but that is reality. Please send this to
all your friends and family. This means A LOT to me!
Thanks for taking the time to read all of this. Your
support would be greatly appreciated and loved!! If
you would like the specific names of these initiatives
so you know what you're voting against, I'll be happy
to send them to you!!

Dooney & Burke vs. Guess.......perverted SaveMart checker

Dooney & Burke vs. Guess:
I have not yet given into the expensive purse craze, which L. and J. have so happily participate in. My main reason is because of the lack of money I have, basically, not wanting to spend as much as I do on a monthly car payment for a purse. So I pride myself in still buying nice purses from places like Nine West and Guess, but never once has anyone ever complimented me on my purses. And then, last week while I was hanging out with my sister she lent me her Dooney & Burke purse. I was at first hesitant because it was larger than what I usually carry but since she didn't really use it anymore she just told me to give it a try. Well, it was barely 24 hours since I had that purse and already 2 people complimented me on it. And then....on Saturday at this housing fair that Ray and I were at, a total stranger comes up to me and compliments the purse! A total stranger! What's funny was that I made this comment to Ray the night before and he didn't see what the big deal was until that total stranger came up to me. So that's interesting, it seems as though women can smell out the expensive purses and hone in on them, whereas my cute yet slightly cheaper purses never get the time or day with anyone!

Perverted SaveMart checker:
Ray and I were at SaveMart yesterday buying popcorn. I got into one of the lines while he got into another so we could see which line would go faster. (You know y'all do that too!) I was reading PEOPLE and in the background I can hear the checker talking it up with his customer at the moment. I didn't really think anything of it. It wasn't until Ray joined me in my line did I look up and noticed that the checker was a slightly older man (possibly in his 50's) and the customer was a young and PRETTY woman! I thought, "Oh my God, is this pervert flirting with her?!?!" I said to myself, "No, he's just friendly. Really good customer service." Once he was done with her transaction and moved onto the little old lady I noticed that he wasn't AS friendly to the little old lady as he was with the young HOT lady. Now here's the clincher! As the woman approached the sliding doors her ASS was in full view and that's when the guy slowly turned and totally took a 3 second look! That's when I knew he was flirting with her! Ewwww!!!! The funniest part is when he was finishing the old lady's transaction and was about to give her the receipt, he realized he didn't have the other woman sign her credit card receipt! Dumbass! Maybe if you weren't checking out the other woman this wouldn't have happened. And it turns out she's pregnant too! Ewwwww!!!!!!! So he had to have a poor bagger run after the woman for his own horny mistake. As we left the market Ray was like, "That guy was totally flirting with her!" It was so good to see that it was that obvious enough for even Ray to notice it! So folks, watch out for the perverted checker at the SaveMart on Calaveras!

Spring Break coming to an end.....

I'm so sad....my Spring Break is winding down.....WAAAAAAAA!!!!! I enjoyed being able to sleep in with Ray and knowing I didn't have to do anything if I didn't want to. *sigh* Next break is Memorial Day in May and then school ends June 16th. That seems like a loooooong way to go!

Thursday:
Went to Jon and Lorraine's to hang out. Their regular babysitter is on vacation so I offered to help out a bit and hang out. Got there around 11:15 since Lorraine had to take Colin to the doctor. Hung out with Jon and baby Charlize. She's soooooo cute! She has the cutest smile and laugh! Lorraine didn't get back until almost noon. Since Colin's sick she dropped him off at Lorraine's parents in Saratoga so they could disinfect the house. I took Charlize on a walk while they vacuumed and "Lysol-ed" everything. We went to the shopping plaza nearby and checked out Ross and got a smoothie. We came back 45 minutes later and they still weren't done! They finally finished around 2. I went with Lorraine and Charlize to pick up Colin. We had a good conversation. Left at 3:30 and went to my monthly stamping workshop with Jen and Lucille. Made some cute cards.

Went to a hip-hop class at my gym with Ray, Shirley, and Xuanthao. It was sooo packed in there! I had fun though. At first it was a little intimidating because I'm so not hip-hop but I found it to be very much like Van Nghe (my old church dance group) I wouldn't say that I ended up doing the moves like a pro but I was able to do the moves! It was quite interesting watching people of all ages (and I mean ALL ages!) do these moves! It was fun though, and it looked like Ray enjoyed it too. Hmmm....will this be a regular workout for us?......Went home, had dinner, and made some cookies. They took forever to bake, I don't know why......

Friday (today):
Mary cancelled out on our lunch date, she had a last minute lunch meeting. Ended up going to the gym BY MYSELF for the very first time EVER! I was so proud of myself! I actually worked out for almost an hour! Johnny called to see if I wanted to go to lunch. Perfect timing! He had a gift card to Chili's so he took me to lunch. That was very nice of him! I had the steak skillet (medium) with mashed potatoes and steamed broccli. We shared a chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream. Yum! We then went to Toyota to get a new car key and alarm button. I lost my original almost 2 months ago and still haven't found it so I sucked it up and spent $250 to get it replaced. Don't ask me why I sucked it up and got it instead of just dealing with manually opening my door and trunk.....Later tonight, probably going to Dave 'n Buster's with my Handsome.
