A not so windy day, finally!

Sun., May 28th:
Today was a lot more relaxing. Ray and I headed to Mya and Keira's baptism in Union City. The reception was then held at the Sheraton in Milpitas. It was very fancy. I felt like I was at another wedding! In was in a mini ballroom, with favors, cake, slideshow, the whole shebang! It was fun. We didn't leave 'til 5:30. We then met up with Johnny and Malika (Johnny had been playing tour guide for the weekend) and had dinner at the Melting Pot. To my knowledge, it's the only fondue restaurant in San Jose. It was so frickin' good. we were there for 3 hours. We started out with a cheese fondue, moved onto salad, then a meat fondue with coq au vin oil, and ended it with dark chocolate/white chocolate fondue. I was so full!

ANOTHER windy day.......god damn.....

Sat., May 27th:
The morning was spent at SJ State for Rob "Biggs" Jiminez's graduation. It was quite a momentous occasion. afterwards we took Hercules to training, rushed home to change and went to Kimmy's baby shower, hung out for a couple hours and then headed over to Ray's friend's wedding. It was held at Guglielmo Winery in Morgan Hill. It was a very nice setting except I didn't realize it was an outdoor wedding and it was still windy. I was VERY cold. There was a lot of food. It got a bit ridiculous. There wasn't much dancing happening since ppl seemed too cold to dance. We headed home around 8.

A windy day in Monterey

Fri., May 26th:
Malika and I headed down to Monterey to visit the aquarium. It was cool like always. I love, love, LOVE the sea otters, jellyfish, and huge-ass turtles! We had dinner at a seafood restaurant overlooking a little beach. I had some yummy clam chowder and a seafood dish that I can't remember at the moment. We got home a little after 5:30 and got ready for X-Men III. People present at the theater were Johnny, Ly, Shirley, Danny, Lucille, and Michael. The movie was good but I can't decide which one I like the most. After the movie some of us ate dinner at Dave 'n Busters.

A windy day in SF

Thurs., May 25th:
Malika and I started off the day with a walk to Starbucks with Ray and Herc. We had some yummy bagel breakfast sandwiches at the bagel shop nearby. I don't normally eat bagel anymore but it was GOOD! I had a egg, ham, spinach, and mushroom on a garlic cheesy bagel. Mmmmm........

The day continued with a BART ride up to SF. We stopped at the Montgomery stop, took a bus, and went to the Palace of Fine Arts and Exploratorium. We spent a couple hours there and snacked on some nachos. We then headed to the Asian Art Museum. Pretty much the same things the last time I visited. Afterwards we had a nice snack inside the Nordstrom building (chocolate croissants....mmmm...) and then headed home.

X-Men and French people

Wed., May 24th:
Picked up Malika at the airport at 8 p.m. for the weekend. It was really great seeing her again. Before we met up with her in Paris it had been 5 yrs. so it was really nice to see her again so soon. She just graduated from Kent State, yay! On the same night I hosted an X-Men II night in preparation for the new X-Men III. In attendance was Johnny, Shirley, Sonya, Jeremy, Loki, and Grrl. We had pizza and salad. It was fun.

Sunday cake day

Spent the morning driving in the pouring rain doing errands. Got home just in time for our scheduled cake-tasting appt. with Pamplemousse bakery. Kelli, the owner is really nice. We sampled neopolitan, tiramisu, and chocolate truffle grand marnier. My favorite, of course, was tiramisu. We really liked Kelli. She was very helpful and willing to work with our needs. Right now she is at the top of our list (which is only a list of 2!) We plan on checking out A Piece of Cake and possible Goldilocks before we make our decision.

Saturday, May 20th

Spent a nice lazy morning training Herc for his race on June 3rd and baking some honey biscuits for breakfast. After training class we headed over to the Cerezo's abode for Charlize's baptism reception. It was quite the event, but then again, it's Lorraine! It was fully catered with a carving station and yummy desserts. There were couches under tents around the pool and the pool house was converted into a kids room complete with activities and a kid's food table.

Friday, May 19th

Happy Birthday Lucille!

Open House

Thursday, May 18th was Open House. This is a chance for parents to come and check out their kid's classroom after they have spent almost a school year learning a whole bunch of stuff. I was surprised by the big turnout I had. Over half of my students' parents came. It was nice being able to catch up and to meet the other half of the parents. It was nice seeing the students and not have to actually teach anything at the moment.

Sunday humping day

Yesterday Sonya, Jeremy, Loki, and their new dog came over. We walked to Baja Fresh and had some lunch. Lounged about in the patio area. Saw one of my former 4th graders (sniff, sniff) and walked back to the house for mini break while the new dog (name unknown at the moment) had some food. We grabbed some strawberries, refilled the water bottles, and walked to the park nearby. We spent a couple hours just hanging out there and talking while the dogs sunbathed and Sonya and I got a bit of a burn! We headed back to the house around 3ish and my sister came over. Watched some X-Men I while the dogs napped. After a while Herc and Fiona (we finally thought of a name for her) got a bit frisky. There was a bit of humping action going on but mainly in the wrong direction! I don't think Herc realized he wasn't suppose to hump Fiona's face but then again maybe he had something else in his mind! But enough of dog humping! After the movie we ate some dinner and Johnny joined us a little after that. We then just lounged while watching a bit of TV, hung out in the backyard when it cooled down, and they all left around 10:30/11. All in all it was a good but tiring weekend! And we have the dog porn to prove it.....

Saturday KABOOM day

On Sat. we dropped Herc at the vet again so he could get his ear cleaned and other nasty stuff I'm not even going to mention. Ray and I got some time to ourselves for about an hour. Now I know how parents feel! After we picked him up we went back and practiced some commands with him. He's getting better but I know if we were more vigilant he would be head of the class. Once again, now I know how parents feel....

After class my sister came over to watch him while we went to the KFOG KABOOM festival up in SF. We took the bike up for the first time (together) since last summer. It was a bit cold up there but still fun. We found a spot amongst the mass and listened to KT Tunstall and Los Lonely Boys while munching on cheesesteak, parmesan garlic fries, and cinnamon crunchy almonds. Yum! We ended the night with fireworks and got home at 11.

Friday dumpling day

Friday night Ray, Johnny, Hercules, and I went up to Marie's for a dumpling wrapping night. Since I had to first take Herc to the vet and then we were stuck in traffic (what's new) we got there when the dumpling was already cooked. There were mainly Wilson teachers and their significant others. It was cool hanging out with the teachers in a more social setting. Herc was the best as always. Very well-behaved and getting a lot better with crowds. After everyone left the 5 of us took a walk by Lake Merritt and talked. Left around 11ish p.m.

What kids will say....

Student #1: Ms. Nguyen, is that a real diamond?

Student #2: Of course it's real! If it wasn't real she would sue him!

Hercules's weekend

Saturday, May 6th:
So I woke up in my crate to a glorious sunny morning. As usual I banged on my crate door so my mom and dad would know I had to go pee real bad. Man, imagine holding it allll night and not being able to get up and go! I enjoyed some yummy kibble, did my duty in the backyard (I'm getting used to doing it out there now), and took a nice walk with dad while mommy did some work at home.

At 1 p.m. I went to school. Those white furry dogs are really mental. They keep yapping all over the place. It's getting a bit annoying. I'm like trying to listen to Aki and the other trainer and all I can hear and see are those damn dogs jumping all over the place. And that golden retriever! Man, now that's a big dog! I was feeling a bit lazy today so I was being a real butthead to mommy and daddy. Oh well, they still love me!

After class we went to a BBQ at Auntie Joy and Lea Ann's place. We were celebrating Uncle Rob's birthday. There was another dog there name Rogue. She's kinda hot but a little bit too young for me. I mean, I'm a whole year old now and she's like 2 months! That's like cradle robbing! She was cute to look at but she kept trying to sniff my crotch. It was getting a bit annoying.

After the BBQ we headed over to Auntie Arlene, Uncle Noel, and Cousin Brady's house. Mommy and daddy are going to Auntie Lily's birthday so I have to stay at auntie's house. I was a bit sad but I guess I have to get use to it. Mommy and daddy need a life too. *sigh* I had fun though until Cousin Brady started following me around. I thought he was going to pull my tail or jump on me and think I'm a horse! I looooove Auntie Arlene though. She would pet me a lot and we would cuddle on the couch!

Sunday, May 7th:

Today I woke up and was a bit confused. It took me a while to realize that I was in Brady's room. I felt bad whimpering at night and waking him up but I was still a little confused. I thought mommy and daddy might pick me up in a few hours but they didn't. So I hung out in the backyard and kept myself busy until they came to pick me up. I was soooo happy to see them! I think I upset mommy a bit with all my jumping. She didn't seem to like that. I need to remember that.......

After mommy and daddy picked me up we went to grandma and grandpa's house to eat cake for Auntie Lily's birthday. I tried to be on my best behavior. Grandma looooves me! I'm her best grandchild EVER. Wait a minute....I'm her ONLY grandchild....hmmmmm......After cake and a bit of hanging out we went hiking. Man, the trails are rough on the paws. I stuck through it though! I had fun. We then went back to grandma and grandpa's and apparently Auntie Lily bought me a Gucci hat. She's a bit crazy but I know she loves me. I think I look stylin' in it. It doesn't stay on very well, especially when I have to do my daily body shake. Not booty shake. Body shake. Well, I'm home now. It's always good to be home. I love relaxing on my big pillow and chewing the life out of my squeaky lamb toy. Desparate Housewives was crazy tonight! I love that show. Dude, Eva Longoria is hot. Man, if I weren't neutered........
