The 2nd day of school was so much better. Apparently eating before class starts makes a big difference! Thanks to Shirley for the kiddie CD. Although I didn't use it the way it was meant it was a great addition to the morning desk activity as kids filtered in. It really made the classroom seem even more kinder!

Advantages/Disadvantages

The pros and cons of sharing a classroom:

Pros:
1. Having a veteran teacher to know what's going on and where to set up the L.A. and Math walls
2. Twice the speed in setting things up
3. (Not sure if this has anything to do w/sharing a room but....) My room is big! AND, it's got a storage room! An actual room to store STUFF and only STUFF!


Cons:
1. Not being able to set up completely the way I want it
2. Very little wall space for student work (partly the fault of the way room's designed)
3. Having to listen to someone else's opinion, especially the opinion of someone way more experienced so you feel like you should agree
4. (Not really related) But no frickin' AC and I'm the p.m. kinder!! Shiiiiit!!!!!

One more week to go.....

....I can't believe I have one more week to go.....

On another note, ran into some ppl from my past yesterday. Awkward with some and happy for one. I think I handled myself very well.


If you haven't been watching the new CW station (a hybrid of UPN and WB) then watch because I'm on it! They're finally showing commercials that have me in it. Several thoughts on it: 1) I can't believe I sound like that 2) My head looks really round when my hair's in a ponytail and 3) It sucks ass that the day I get my 10 seconds of fame is the day that I'm not wearing any makeup and I'm drenched from being dragging into the fountains by the campers!

So You Think You Can Dance and more

So Donyelle didn't win "So you think you can dance." As sad as I was about her losing (because I think she's EXCELLENT) I was just as pleased that Benji won. Contrary to what others say and feel I like Benji. His dancing and personality gets me pumped up. So I'm VERY sad that the tour tix are all sold out. Can you believe that I tried to order tickets at exactly 10 a.m. (when they went on sale) and tickets for 2+ ppl were already gone! WAAAAAA!!!!!!

On another note, I'm sooooo happy that Heather from "Hell's Kitchen" won. She so deserved it! I think Virginia was way too immature. Granted she had SOME skills but on the other hand she used her sexuality waaay too much when doing the mini-contests (refer back to the food truck contest). Flirting with ppl doesn't and should NOT determine whether or not your food is good!

Will feeling nervous about the first day of school ever end? Maybe when I've been at the same school for more than a year!

Shopping: A dangerous sport?

Went clothes shopping with Jen on Tuesday. In 3 hours I shopped at two stores (Gap and J.Crew) and spent approx. $400. I tried to pick pieces that would go with what I already have. So I bought 3 pairs of slacks of different colors, a fitted jacket, two merino sweaters, and two thin t-shirts. Good thing I worked this summer!

Never let your man do laundry that includes your own. UNLESS you want clothes that are supposed to be line-dried found in the dryer! Love you Ray!

I feel like crap

3 more weeks 'til school starts. First week is finishing camp, Second is my free week, Third is my work week. If it weren't for the $$ I would be plenty bitter about not having much of a summer!
