Taiko and favors

Last night Ray's friends, Chris and Deb, tied the note at Seascape Resort in Aptos. We were a bit nervous driving down there since it started raining but luckily the rain had stopped when we got there, especially since the ceremony was outdoors! Deb looked beautiful in this slinky, stain-looking dress with a low back, crisscrossed straps, and a purple underlay. Thank God the ceremony was short because we had to stand the whole time on grass in heels! The view was wonderful though with the ocean in the background. We then migrated indoors for the cocktail reception and dinner. They had paper cranes made from a shiny material put together to form the symbol for "love" in japanese. After about an hour cocktail reception we proceeded into the ballroom where the bridal party was welcomed by the SJ Taiko group, which Deb is a part of. Very original and amazing. The entire performance ended with Deb finishing up the set in her dress and veil!
We were seated with a few of Ray's former co-workers. They're really nice people and fun to talk to. The sparkling wine we had for the toast was delicious. It tasted like a muscat. We dined on steak w/mushroom sauce, veggies, and mashed taters. The cake was either choc. cake with raspberry filling or white cake w/ strawberry filling. The DJ was a bit much with his introduction of almost every song he played. We felt like we were listening to the Top 40 on the radio! Overall it was a gorgeous night. Deb did a great job with everything. I was truly impressed!

I went to a wedding at Seascape, my good childhood buddy Beth a few years ago. Beautiful place!

Yes, don't get a DJ who announces everything-- likes to hear himself talk-- the day's not about him! :)
